What is the main difference between LogNorm and Semrush?
Semrush answers "what is happening in search", and LogNorm answers "what should we do this week, and did it work". Semrush is a suite of toolkits: SEO, AI visibility, content, local, traffic and market research, advertising and social, priced separately or bundled as Semrush One. Its homepage claims 28 billion keywords, 43 trillion backlinks and 142 geo databases.
LogNorm is narrower and goes further down the line. It audits your site for search and AI, researches the keywords and competitors that matter to you, checks what ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews say about you, and ranks every finding as a move in one backlog. Then people and agents ship the moves, and LogNorm re-checks fixes and measures results.

Which is better for finding SEO opportunities?
Semrush finds more raw opportunities, because its databases cover far more keywords, domains and markets than any startup tool. If you research many niches, pull backlink data or study competitors' ads, nothing on this page replaces it.
LogNorm finds fewer opportunities and filters them harder. Keyword research pulls ideas from four places: your seed topics, keywords you already rank for in the top 30, Search Console queries and competitors' keyword gaps. Each keyword gets a call on relevance, intent, page format and buying stage, with LogNorm's confidence, and unclear ones wait in a Needs your call queue. Keywords are grouped into pages, then into topic clusters with hub-and-spoke plans.
The difference shows on day two. Semrush hands you a list to judge. LogNorm hands you a short list it has already judged for your business, with the reasoning visible.
How do LogNorm and Semrush prioritise the work?
LogNorm ranks every piece of work against every other piece, while Semrush leaves the ordering across its tools to you. In Semrush a site audit issue, a keyword gap and an AI visibility finding live in different toolkits with their own scores.
In LogNorm each finding becomes a move with its evidence. LogNorm compares open moves in pairs, asks each question both ways round so the order of the options can't bias the answer, and fits the results into one ranking. You set a weekly target, and the Growth Plan fills it with the top moves. Rank higher, Rank lower and drag-and-drop become constraints that later rankings respect.
Which handles site audits and fixes better?
Semrush checks more issues, and LogNorm does more with each one. Semrush Site Audit lists over 140 issues, including AI search checks for llms.txt and for blocked AI crawlers such as OAI-SearchBot, PerplexityBot and Claude-SearchBot.
LogNorm's site audit runs 29 SEO rules plus a GEO audit covering AI crawler access, llms.txt, structured data, entity clarity, answerability and agent readiness. Each issue becomes a move with every affected URL attached. Your coding agent fixes the cause in your repo, and Validate fix re-fetches up to 1,500 affected pages on the live site, closing the move only when they pass. LogNorm can also generate the fix files: llms.txt, a robots.txt AI section and a JSON-LD bundle.
Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit vs LogNorm AI visibility
Semrush tracks more engines; LogNorm ties each answer to work you can ship. Semrush's AI visibility reports cover ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Mode and AI Overviews, and its Brand Performance report adds Perplexity. The AI Visibility Toolkit costs $99 a month per domain billed annually, with 25 tracked prompts and no free trial. Semrush One plans bundle it with SEO, tracking 50, 100 or 200 prompts daily.
LogNorm asks your prompts in the real ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews from your market's country. It keeps mentions and citations apart, labels how each answer treats you and each competitor, and lists cited third-party pages that name competitors and not you. Ranked learnings become moves, and an Impact tab compares answers before and after each page you ship. Plans include 10, 50 or 250 tracked prompts, and each answer costs half a credit.
If you already pay for Semrush and need Perplexity or AI Mode, the toolkit is the simpler add. If AI answers should drive what your team builds next, LogNorm closes that loop. Our guide to AI visibility explains the metrics both use.
Can Semrush or LogNorm write and publish content?
Both can help you write; LogNorm goes from brief to published post inside one workflow. Semrush sells a Content Toolkit at $60 a month billed annually, with AI and SEO content optimisation and content in your brand voice.
LogNorm's Content Studio builds each brief from the live search results, the top-ranking pages and your Company Brain. Drafts get a section-by-section scorecard, and claims with figures or product statements are checked against your own sources and marked supported, contradicted or not mentioned. Approved posts publish to WordPress, Ghost, Webflow, Contentful, Sanity, Strapi, HubSpot CMS, Shopify, Storyblok, Notion, GitHub or a signed webhook.
How do agents and MCP work in each tool?
Semrush's MCP server brings its data into your AI assistant, while LogNorm's MCP server gives your coding agent a job. Semrush says its MCP links to ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Cursor, VS Code and Claude Code, and its pricing page lists MCP access on Semrush One plans.
On LogNorm, Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or Claude joins the workspace as a named teammate. It claims moves from the ranked plan, fixes issues in your codebase, writes posts with diagrams and covers, and comments every decision on the dashboard. Its own work runs on your Claude or Codex plan, so it needs no AI key and costs no LogNorm credits. How Semrush's MCP works is a useful read if you want both side by side.
