Keywords & Topics

Keyword research your agents can act on

Every keyword judged for fit, intent and format, grouped into pages and topics with hub-and-spoke plans. Your agent researches new keywords, plans topic clusters and writes the articles. LogNorm tracks the rankings.

Why it matters

Keyword lists don't grow traffic. Pages do.

01

Keyword tools hand you thousands of rows and no plan.

LogNorm judges every keyword for your business and groups them into the pages and topics you should own.
02

Topic clusters take a strategist days to plan.

Your agent plans a hub and its spokes in LogNorm's format. LogNorm checks every keyword belongs and turns each article into a ranked move.
03

You never learn which keywords paid off.

Targeted keywords are rank-tracked and joined with Search Console, and the moves they drive are measured.

LogNorm’s call

A verdict on every keyword, with how sure it is

Volume and difficulty don't tell you whether a keyword brings buyers. LogNorm reads each keyword against your business and tracked competitors and makes a call you can check. Keywords it can't settle go to Needs your call.
  • Relevance: core, related, tangential or off-topic
  • Search intent, own-brand and competitor-brand searches, and the page format that would win it
  • Buying stage (awareness, consideration, decision) and buyer fit
  • Confident off-topic and competitor-brand suggestions are skipped for you; unclear ones wait for Target or Skip

Sources

Keyword ideas from four sources, not one

Research starts from seed topics LogNorm picks from your site, then adds what you already rank for, your Search Console queries and your competitors’ keyword gaps. Queries from Search Console are checked against real search volume and difficulty. See what Search Console unlocks.
  • Seed ideas and long-tail variations around your main topics
  • Keywords you rank for in the top 30, including striking-distance ones
  • Keywords tracked competitors rank for and you don't
  • Every keyword shows each reason it surfaced and which competitor pages rank for it

Topic clusters

Keywords into pages, pages into topic clusters

LogNorm groups keywords that one page could rank for, then groups those pages into topics under a hub. From any topic it builds a hub-and-spoke SEO content plan, and each planned article becomes a move. The topics and clusters docs explain the rules.
  • One hub per topic, with spokes for the specific keywords
  • Each article in the plan lists its keywords, format, angle and the competitor pages to beat
  • Existing pages that should be reworked instead of duplicated are flagged
  • Topics you've edited, kept or hidden are never replaced by a later research run

Rank tracking

Track rankings and fix split pages

Targeted keywords are checked on Google every week, and positions come in daily from Search Console. LogNorm also works out which of your pages should rank for each query, so cannibalisation turns into a specific fix.
  • Position history per keyword, with the page that ranks
  • “Not in the top 100” recorded as a result, not left blank
  • Queries split across your own pages become a move to make one page the answer
  • Queries with demand but no dedicated page become a new page or a refresh move

Built for founders who decide fast

Target or skip

Targeted keywords drive and strengthen moves. Skipped ones are never suggested again, and untouched moves built on them are dismissed.

Filters that matter

Filter by source, relevance, intent, cluster or position, including striking distance (positions 4 to 20).

One topic list

Clusters are the same topics your blog planner, moves and AI visibility prompts use.

Re-check a call

Ask LogNorm to judge a keyword again after your business or topics change.

Search Console detail

Impressions, clicks and average position for 90 days on every keyword you appear for.

Demand over 12 months

See each keyword's monthly search trend before you commit a page to it.

Your own keywords

Add keywords to a topic by hand, or build a new cluster from a selection.

Curate your topics

Keep, hide or rename suggested topics. Only active topics produce article ideas.
How it works

From seed topics to a content plan

  1. 1

    Research runs on its own

After LogNorm reads your site, it picks seed topics and pulls suggestions from every source.
  2. 2

    LogNorm makes its calls

Each keyword is judged for fit, intent and format. Unclear ones go to Needs your call.
  3. 3

    Target what matters

Target or skip suggestions. Targeted keywords are tracked and raise the confidence of related moves.
  4. 4

    Plan the cluster

Build a hub-and-spoke plan for a topic. Its articles land in your Growth Plan as moves.

Questions, answered

How is this different from a normal keyword research tool?

Most keyword tools give you volume and difficulty and leave the judgement to you. LogNorm also decides whether each keyword fits your business: how relevant it is to what you sell, the search intent, whether it's a brand search, which page format would win it, which buying stage it belongs to and how likely the searcher is to buy. Every call shows how confident LogNorm is, and the unclear ones wait for you.

What does Needs your call mean?

When LogNorm can't tell whether a suggestion is worth keeping, or can't tell the intent, it doesn't guess. The keyword goes into the Needs your call queue, where you choose Target or Skip. LogNorm only skips a keyword on its own when it's confident the keyword is off-topic or a search for a competitor's brand.

Where do keyword suggestions come from?

Four places: ideas from your seed topics, keywords you already rank for in the top 30, queries from Google Search Console, and keywords your tracked competitors rank for and you don't. LogNorm also adds long-tail variations around your main topics. Every keyword keeps a record of each reason it surfaced, so you can see why it's there.

How does keyword clustering work?

Clustering happens in two levels. First, keywords that one page could rank for together are grouped into pages. Then pages that one pillar page would link to are grouped into topics, and one page is picked as the hub. Topics you've edited, kept or hidden are never replaced by a later research run. From any topic you can build a hub-and-spoke plan: a hub article and focused spoke articles, each with target keywords, an angle and the competitor pages to beat.

How is rank tracking done?

LogNorm checks every targeted keyword on Google once a week and records its position, or notes that it isn't in the top 100. If Search Console is connected, it also stores a daily position for each keyword from your own Search Console data. You can run a check on demand as well.

Which countries does keyword data cover?

94 countries. Each website has one market, a country plus a language where the country has several, and its search volumes, rankings and competitors come from Google in that country. It defaults to the United States, or to your country domain's country, and you can change it in the website's settings. To cover a second country, add it as another website.

What does LogNorm do about keyword cannibalisation?

With Search Console connected, LogNorm looks for queries where two or more of your pages each take a real share of the impressions. When it's sure which page should rank, it creates a move to make that page the one page for the query. It also spots queries with demand but no dedicated page, and suggests either pointing an existing page at them or writing a new one.

Do I need Google Search Console?

No, keyword research works without it. Connecting Search Console adds your real queries as suggestions, daily positions and the page-matching and cannibalisation checks. It also lets LogNorm measure the results of the pages you publish.

Can my agent do keyword research and topic planning?

Yes. A connected agent looks up keyword ideas, long-tail suggestions, volumes, Google results and keyword gaps with a competitor, tracks the keywords worth targeting, and writes hub-and-spoke plans in LogNorm's format. LogNorm checks every keyword belongs to the topic and turns the plan's articles into ranked moves. No AI key needed.
