What does LogNorm do for a WordPress site?
LogNorm decides what your WordPress site should do next and ships the content part of it. It crawls and audits the site, reads your Search Console data, researches keywords and competitors, and ranks every finding as a move in one weekly plan.
- A site audit that checks titles, descriptions, headings, indexability, status codes, links, content depth, speed and structured data on your live pages.
- A GEO audit that checks whether AI crawlers can reach and quote your pages.
- Briefs and drafts in the content studio, reviewed and approved by your team.
- Publishing to WordPress, then measurement of each post at 28 and 90 days from Search Console.
It audits a WordPress site the same way it audits any site, by fetching the pages a visitor or crawler would see. Nothing is installed on your server.
How does LogNorm publish to WordPress?
LogNorm publishes through the WordPress REST API, signed in as a user you choose with an application password. WordPress has shipped application passwords since version 5.6, and they only work over HTTPS.
| Part of the post | Where it lands in WordPress |
|---|---|
| Title, slug and body | The post (or another post type you pick), as HTML |
| Hero image | Uploaded to the media library and set as the featured image |
| Body images | Uploaded to the media library, with alt text |
| Meta description | The post excerpt |
| Target keyword | Added as a tag, next to any default tags you set |
| Author and categories | The author you pick; missing categories are created |
You choose Save as draft, Publish live or Schedule. Scheduling uses the planned date from the Blog planner; WordPress publishes the post at that time and LogNorm marks it published within about 15 minutes. Publishing again updates the same post in place instead of creating a duplicate.
How do you connect WordPress to LogNorm?
An owner or admin opens the CMS gallery for the website, picks WordPress and enters three things: the site URL, a username and an application password. LogNorm tests the credentials before saving, and nothing is created during the test.
- Create an application password
In WordPress, open Users › Profile › Application Passwords and add one for LogNorm. The user needs the Editor or Author role.
- Enter the connection
Paste the site URL, username and password. Self-hosted WordPress and WordPress.com Business both work, over HTTPS.
- Set the defaults
Pick the post type, the default mode (draft or live), image handling, author, categories and tags.
- Save
LogNorm tests again and saves. The secret is encrypted for your workspace and never shown again.
Is LogNorm a replacement for Yoast SEO?
No. Yoast SEO is a plugin that works inside WordPress on each post's on-page settings; LogNorm works outside it on deciding, writing and measuring. They overlap very little.
| Job | Yoast SEO (free plugin) | LogNorm |
|---|---|---|
| Runs where | Inside WordPress, as a plugin | Outside, over the REST API |
| Per-post SEO title and meta fields | Yes, with templates and SERP previews | Sends the description as the excerpt; doesn't fill plugin fields |
| XML sitemaps, breadcrumbs, canonicals | Yes | Audits them on the live site |
| Schema.org structured data | Yes | Audits it; doesn't add it on WordPress |
| Deciding what to write and fix next | No | Ranked moves from audits, Search Console, keywords and competitors |
| Drafting and publishing posts | Readability and SEO analysis while you write | Briefs, drafts, review and publishing |
| Measuring each post | No | Search Console baseline, then 28 and 90 days |
What should you know before publishing from LogNorm?
A few rules keep posts safe. A piece must be approved before it can go live, and publishing needs the Owner, Admin or Editor role.
- On WordPress, saving a draft of a live post takes the live post down, so once a piece is live LogNorm turns off Save as draft and Schedule for it. Publish live updates it in place.
- Each website connects at most one CMS, and a WordPress site serves at most one website in your workspace.
- A failed publish is never retried automatically, because a blind retry could create a duplicate post. Fix the cause, then click Retry.
AI agents connected to LogNorm can write and illustrate drafts, but they can't publish. People approve and publish. The publishing docs cover every mode and error.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best WordPress SEO tool?
It depends on the job. An on-page plugin such as Yoast SEO handles meta fields, sitemaps and schema inside WordPress. LogNorm handles the plan: what to write and fix next, the drafts, publishing and measurement. Many sites use one of each.
Do I need to install a plugin to use LogNorm with WordPress?
No. LogNorm uses the WordPress REST API with an application password. Nothing is installed on your site.
Which WordPress sites can LogNorm publish to?
Self-hosted WordPress and WordPress.com Business sites served over HTTPS, with a user that has the Editor or Author role.
Does LogNorm set the Yoast SEO title and meta description?
No. It sends the meta description as the post excerpt and adds the target keyword as a tag. Set plugin fields such as the SEO title in WordPress.
Which plans include WordPress publishing?
Publishing is on paid plans from Starter, which includes one connected CMS; Growth and Scale have no limit. Search Console is included on Free too. See pricing.
